Ben's Blog

Due to the lockdown, the usual end of season awards for Plymouth Kolts couldn’t be held, which was a real shame as they would have had a proper evening of it in the Green Taverners club at Plymouth Argyle, which would have been great.  This was Ben’s first one as well, so it was even more of a shame!!  So, instead, we had to wait until well into July for Lewis and Marcus to sort something out, and making sure it was all covid secure, so in the end it was just a little presentation after training one night.  Kelly and I helped put the table up and put all the awards on to it, ready for after training.  I had been saying for weeks that I thought Ben may get a player of the year award as he was constantly being praised by Marcus and some of the other parents who said that Ben never stopped running and always put the effort in.  So, we were all very pleased when Ben DID get PLAYER OF THE SEASON – MANAGER’S AWARD!!!  Whoop, whoop!!  Ben was very pleased although it was all a bit downbeat due to social distancing and Lewis and Marcus weren’t able to actually hand him the lovely trophy.  Hopefully it will be back to normal next year!!  Ben also got another trophy, the same as all of the others, for playing for Kolts for the season.  So he came away very happy and with two very nice trophies!! He now needs to try and keep it up when the new season starts – whenever that will be!! 🙂
