This term, Ben has been carrying on with Netball Club on a Wednesday, Running Club on a Friday (as he has entered the School’s Challenge Half Marathon which he competed in last year) and also a new club which is Film Club on a Thursday. He is getting on very well with Netball and Running and is also enjoying Film Club where the children can bring in some snacks and they all watch a film together. I think the film lasts over 2 or 3 sessions as the club is only 40 mins long. He seems to like it anyway, especially all the snacks that the children bring in to share with everyone else! 😉
Since Christmas, we have all been to the cinema a couple of times. All three of the boys love going to the cinema and we have been lucky that there have been some good family films out! Just after New Year, we went to see the new animated version of The Grinch, which was good, and last week, during Half Term, we went to see the Lego Movie 2, which was also very good. The boys took in plenty of sweets and drinks and were scoffing all the way through the films! haha Even Coby has been sat mostly quietly through the films which shows how much he enjoys it! Even better that we have managed to see these two films at Vue on a Meerkat day so reduced price!
The week after his Netball tournament, Ben had his certificates given to him during assembly. Kelly and I both went to see as he also had his swimming certificate presented to him. Here are some pics.
A few weeks ago at Swimming, we turned up expecting to do a normal lesson but his Swim Teacher Jess, got Ben and the group to do the next distance badge, which was meant to be 400m, but as the children all did that pretty easily, she said they could carry on and do 600m. Luckily, Ben said he would and carried on and did it fairly easily in the end! Well done Ben! He got his 600m certificate and badge at the end but not his 400m as they had run out of these certificates unfortunately. Every week since, he has asked but they haven’t had any in stock, which is a bit rubbish really. Ben is doing really well with his swimming and is very close to moving up to the next stage. I think he is on 97% and just needs to get a bit better on his breast stroke kicking and he will be on to the next stage! Yay!
