Gold Merit and Reading Award

On Wednesday, Ben got another gold merit certificate and also a reading award to show that he is doing very well with his reading and that he has gone up another level. Aaron had some awards as well in the assembly so the headmaster, Mr Hancock, said it was a proper ‘family affair’ as they ended up taking turns going up to get their awards! haha

Sickness

After the Argyle game on Saturday, which Ben felt sick at in the 2nd half, he was quite ill when we got home and well into the night. He had an awful upset stomach and was sick several times.  The poor boy was in tears as he felt that unwell. Coby then got it as well although he wasn’t quite as bad as Ben was. He gradually got better yesterday and is managing to eat some plain food and drink now. Hopefully he will be back to school again tomorrow. It is the first sickness bug that we have had for a very long time and hopefully the last for another very long time!

Argyle vs Stevenage

On Saturday, Ben and I went to watch the FA Cup 1st Round game between Plymouth Argyle and Stevenage Borough. It was the first competitive game that Ben had been to see and he loved it. He was shouting as well, which was quite amusing, telling the players to shoot and tackle! hahaha. Argyle won it in the last minute of injury time which made us all jump up and cheer and then Ben went to sit back down and didn’t realise his seat has popped back up so fell down! haha. We managed to get a picture of him with Pilgrim Pete at half time as well! 😉 We also shared a nice hot bovril drink, as it was freezing there, before Ben started feeling sick (which is another story). As we were walking out after the match, he said he was looking forward to the next game that we go and watch. Hopefully they will get a home draw in the 2nd round, and hopefully they will keep the prices cheap for that game as well!

Sophia’s Naming Ceremony

At Sophia’s Naming Ceremony, Ben was asked to read out a short poem, which he did very well. He was quite nervous but did an excellent job!

Bonfire Night and Fireworks

This year, Woolwell put on a free Bonfire and Fireworks night, next to the Woolwell Centre, so we went up there to watch the show. The bonfire was massive and there were 3 sets of fireworks that were set off in 5 minute intervals. It was an excellent event and apparently 1500 people went. Lots of the boys’ friends were there as well, so they had a good time with them, watching the fireworks.

When it finished, we walked home and did some sparklers out the back, which the boys enjoyed. They then had some hot chocolate and biscuits before heading off to bed, much later than they should on a School night! 😉
