Parents Evening

Parents evening went well a few weeks ago, before the Easter hols. Ben’s teacher praised him quite a lot and said he was a lovely young man. He is doing well in everything, but more so in English than in Maths. She was very happy with what he has accomplished so far this year, so we are very pleased with him!

Stage 5 Swimming – Complete

On Easter Monday, Ben completed his stage 5 of swimming. He had been on 95% for weeks and just had to sort out his left foot when swimming before they would pass him, but he has improved enough with this now that they have put him up to stage 6. Typically, there isn’t any room for him to join the stage 5 groupon a Monday evening, so he is currently in the group on a saturday morning at 8:30am. So this means an early start each saturday until a space becomes available in the Monday slot! Well done Ben!

Milky Way Adventure Park at Easter

On Easter Saturday, we all went to the Milky Way Adventure Park for the day. It was a great day and we all enjoyed ourselves. We saw some of the shows by Merlin (who was on Britains Got Talent a few years ago) and had several rides on the Dodgems. We tried to watch the outdoor Birds Of Prey show but the weather was so cold and the ground was so waterlogged that the handler called it off in the end, as the birds weren’t flying properly (because of the cold). It was a shame but we saw the inside show anyway. We had dinner there and we also queued up to see the Easter Bunny in his little warren. Coby was excited to see him the most (Ben getting too old now!) but they all said ‘hello’ to him and received a decent chocolate Easter egg each. They were, of course, very happy with that! The boys also had a good run around on the indoor soft play, which is excellent there, and were sad to leave when it was time to go. They were cheered up a bit by buying some things in the shop though!

Spring Music Festival

This year, Ben was in both sessions of the yearly Spring Music Festival as he was part of singing club (so sang a song with the other club members) and also played the Ocarina, with his classmates. The two sessions lasted all morning and it was interesting to listen to it all to say the least. The singing was hilarious though, as they had to sing a song about tomato ketchup and hold up a picture of a ketchup bottle each time they said ketchup. All the parents and other teachers were trying hard not to laugh, but it was so funny, as half the singers, including Ben, were sniggering as well whilst singing it! He did very well though and also looked good playing the Ocarina.

Even More Snow!

A couple of weeks after the big snowfall from the Beast From The East, we had snow again! It wasn’t as much this time but was still enough for us to go out for a walk in it and throw some snowballs around. 😉 Three lots of snow in a matter of weeks was incredible really, after having years with nothing at all! The boys all enjoyed it again, as it started falling on a Saturday afternoon and stayed for the next two days, although the school didn’t close this time as the roads were fine, but we were obviously able to go out in at during the weekend.
