On the 26th June, Ben had his first Sports Day at School.  Each person wasn’t up against each other, instead they were in teams and each team scored points for their overall house.  Unfortunately, Ben’s house came second overall, but the team he was in was excellent and won nearly all of their events.

The events that took place were as follows, and each team rotated around them –

• Football skills
• Egg and spoon race
• Running baton relay
• Steal the treasure
• Water carry race
• Hurdles
• Throwing Challenge

After these had been done, there was a general running race.

Ben was great as well, he did every event really well and tried his best.  In the final sprint event, he came second out of about 17 children, which was great.  He was disappointed in this though and somehow managed to hurt his thumb, so he was in a grump towards the end of the day when the scores were being totalled up and announced.

The weather was good, as it was warm but cloudy, and dry.  Lots of people turned up to watch the events and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Last Tuesday, Kelly, myself and Coby went to see Ben get awarded his silver merit mark certificate. This was awarded to him as he reached 20 merit marks, so is doing really well with his school work! We are very proud and I have told him that if he gets his gold award by the end of term, then he can have a new game for his Innotab. He was quite happy with that! 😉

Weight – 3 stone 1 pound
Height – 3 foot 9 inches
