Locking Mummy Out Of The House!

Last week I went to work as normal and got a phone call from a strange number which I answered to find Kelly on the other end.  She was using next door’s phone as Ben had locked her out of the house!!! She had gone out to feed the cats and Ben went up behind her and closed the conservatory door and turned the keys, locking her out.  I rushed home quickly as obviously Ben was left in the house on his own and Kelly was stuck round the back, but he was quite happy sat down watching Cbeebies.

When I got home I tried to get him to take the keys out of the inside of the front door, but he couldn’t. So we were literally both locked out of the house.  I had to climb through a garden and over two fences to get into our back yard, where Kelly was freezing by now as it had nearly been an hour by this time. We tried to get Ben to turn the keys in the conservatory door again but he couldn’t and then he started thinking we were playing, so he wouldn’t do anything to help. Just sat and watched Cbeebies, laughing away!

In the end, after trying to take the conservatory doors off their hinges and failing miserably, I had to take a panel off of the conservatory roof and climb in that way.  It was lucky I knew one of them was loose and lucky that the shed was open and unlocked so I could get to the tools.  It was only a small pane as well, so I had to squeeze through but managed OK and unlocked the door to let Kelly in.  I was quite filthy as well which wasn’t great as I was wearing a shirt for work, and I had managed to cut my hands open in several places.

Anyway, we have put in provisions now to not let this happen again, but we were told by our neighbours (who are a police man and a fire man) that this is quite a common occurence. So if you have young children around 2 years old, BEWARE! 😉

Ben’s 2nd Birthday

It was Ben’s 2nd birthday a couple of weeks ago now…where have the 2 years gone!?!

Instead of having everyone over on the same day as we did last year, we spread it out a bit over a few days. The night before his birthday we went over to his Grandma’s house where we had tea and Ben had some presents including clothes and a voice changer toy. Thank you to Grandma, Grandpa Tony, Uncle Darren and Aunty Marina for their presents.

On his actual birthday, he was very excited when he first saw his presents and started jumping around screaming!  He opened them all which included clothes, a bike, a drum kit and some books and liked everything. We then took him to Jump! which he enjoyed very much, especially the ball pool.  We had dinner there as well which was nice and had another play after.  In the end, he didn’t want to leave so we had to practically drag him to the car! He had a great day and went to bed early as he was tired out.

The following day (Saturday) Ben’s Nan, Pops, Great Nan, Aunty Alex, Uncle Mike, Martine, Aunty Char, Uncle Rich and Cousin Witney came up for the afternoon.  Ben had even more presents which included a drawing desk, a colouring mat, clothes, a Chuggington toy and much more.  He had a great afternoon and again enjoyed playing with his presents.  Thanks to everyone for what they gave him.

During the evening, Great Uncle Neil and Great Aunty Sue popped in with even more presents for Ben. Thank you both for them.

The following weekend, we went down to see Gramps, Nanny Helen and Aunty Bec. Ben was given more presents including clothes, a jigsaw and a children’s keyboard (which he loved and hasn’t stopped playing since!).  Thanks to all for those presents!

To everyone else who sent Ben cards and money, thank you very much from all of us! 😉

Here are some pictures of his birthday…enjoy!

Ben and Mummy's Toothbrush

Last weekend I was upstairs tidying up with Ben when he disappeared for a few minutes. It was all very quiet so I called out for him. I heard a little voice call back to me and it sounded like he was in the bathroom. So I wandered into the bathroom to find Ben casually and calmly cleaning the toilet with Kelly’s electric toothbrush! It was hilarious! He was dipping the toothbrush into the water in the toilet and cleaning the toilet seat (it wasn’t dirty mind!) and making the cleaning noises as he went along. I found it extremely funny but Kelly wasn’t very impressed! HaHaHa Had to go to Tesco after and get her a new one! 😉
