Ben's 1st Christmas

We can’t believe it was his 1st Christmas already! The time has flown since he was born and he has grown so much. As he was only 2 1/2 months old over Christmas he still wasn’t very aware of what was going on, even though he had the most presents. The day did seems to tire him out though as we attempted to open his presents with him on several occasions, only for him to keep falling asleep. I guess the excitement was too much! haha

Like I said above, Ben got loads of presents and thanks go out to everyone who sent a present or money for him. It is much appreciated! 😉 His many presents included a Tumble Time Tigger, a travel cot, a Walker, lots of lovely clothes, cuddly toys and a special present from Santa, an Everton sleep suit and vest.

Here are some pics from the day –

2nd Set Of Jabs – Tuesday 30th December

Ben was a very brave boy and hardly cried at all. As before, he had to have jabs in both legs, which caused a bit of bleeding but nothing too serious. He hardly cried at all which was brilliant of him, although the areas where the jabs were done were a bit tender for the rest of the day. This meant we had to be a bit more careful when lifting or playing with him, as we didn’t want to put pressure on the wrong place. Unlike the first set of jabs he had, he didn’t really get sleepy for the rest of the day. He was up and around as usual! The next set of jabs are at the end of January, but this time there has to be three, which may cause him to cry a bit more, as that won’t be very nice at all.

2 Months Old

We can’t believe where the time has gone!  How can Ben be 2 months old already?  He’s doing well and seems to be developing quickly.  He really smiles and laughs now and is starting to get ticklish!  He tries to talk to you aswell now and his little babbles and coos are very cute, even at 4am!  He’s very strong when it comes to holding his head up now and can do it most of the time.  His legs are getting stronger too and he really kicks and pushes against us.  We are encouraging him to start crawling by giving him ‘tummy time’ most days and he can even hold his head up from this position, he also tries to push up with his legs now aswell.  Not sure of his weight until tomorrow, but watch this space……..

A little smile!

First Immunisations – Wednesday 26th November

Ben had his first immunisations last Wednesday at 8 weeks old.  I really wasn’t looking forward to it and so Grandma came for a bit of moral support!  Ben had to have 2 injections, one in each thigh.  The first vaccination was for Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough), HIB and Polio.  The second was Pneumococcal Infection.  Ben obviously cried a fair bit but not as bad as i thought, it was quite upsetting really and i started to well up after the second injection.  The main thing is that he will be protected from these nasty illnesses.  Next immunisations will be just after Christmas at 12 weeks old, and again will be 2 injections.  Not looking forward to the next set at 16 weeks as that will be 3!!!!

6 Week Check Up – Friday 14th November

On 14th November, Ben and I went to see the GP for our 6 week check up.  We had a chat with the nice female doctor about me and how i was recovering from the birth and about Ben’s progress.  Ben had his hips and other bits and pieces checked to make sure everything was normal, which it was.  He then had his length measured – 58.5cm, his head circumference measured – 38cm and was then weighed at 11 lb 4oz!!  So growing well!
