Kelly's Belly II

Its now into week 34 of the pregnancy, so we have measured Kelly’s belly again. It is now 43 inches, which means it is 3 inches bigger than when it was last measured at the beginning of May.  That is about an 8 cm increase.

Baby's Room

During our holiday (well, my holiday as Kelly is on maternity leave now!) we sorted out the baby’s room.  Was a bit of a nightmare as we first had to take down the bunk beds and sort out everything that was dumped in the room.  Most of the stuff went up into the attic,  which was great, although one of the matresses doesn’t fit through the gap to the attic.  Not sure what we are going to do with it at the moment!

We spent the best part of two days putting up the cotbed, chest of drawers, shelves and pictures on the walls, not to mention sorting through all the baby gear that we have got and putting it all away.  It was all worth it in the end though, as the room looks fantastic now!

Here are some pictures of the room –

Maternity Leave

Kelly started her maternity leave on Friday 25th July.  The previous Tuesday, Kelly went out for a leaving meal with people from the Future Inn.  They went to a pasta bar on the Barbican for a meal, which was apparently very nice.

She had a couple of presents from co-workers, one of which was a cake shaped tower of baby goodies including nappies, soap, shampoo, bibs and much more.  It was very impressive, and thanks go to Jan for giving us this present for the baby.

On her final day they also had a bit of a do in her work place, and more presents were handed out including a £40 Mothercare gift voucher!  (We have spent this now on linen for the cot and the Moses basket)   Apparently lots of good food including Strawberries, Chocolate Cake and other goodies were eaten.  Sounds like a very nice time to me!! 😉

32 Week Mid-wife Appointment

Kelly had her 32 week mid-wife appointment on 29th July and we are glad to report that all was fine.  Perfect infact!  Apparently the head is engaged with everything facing in the right direction.  All tests came back fine as well, so the pregnancy is going along great at the moment!

29 Week Mid-Wife Appointment

Hi all,

Last week we visited the mid-wife again for Kelly’s 29 week check up.  Am glad to report that everything was fine, no problems at all.  A trainee mid-wife checked Kelly over instead of the usual mid-wife, but she was very good as well.

Kelly had her blood taken as well this time, just to check that there wasn’t any excess sugar in her blood, due to the pregnancy.  Am also glad to report that the test came back without any problems!

The next appointment is in 2 weeks, as they have to be every 3 weeks or so from now on (only 9 weeks to go until the due date!), so come back for the next update.

Cheers!
